Polka Dot Progress and a Field Trip

My TKF (Thursday Knitting Friend) and I agreed to make progress on our Polka Dot Purses before heading out on another field trip.  After all, the project pipeline can only get so full before our guilt meters kick into high gear 🙂

So, after about a hour, we admired our work…

… and then hit the road.

Destination – Down Town Knits, a new shop that opened up in downtown Apex.  Michele, the owner let me snap a couple of pics of her very cool shop.   The brick walls and black wood floors of the historic building add a distinct character to the shop, which features lots of yarns from local sources.  There was a definite emphasis on natural fibers.

While TKF restrained herself, I helped myself to a lovely skein of Brown Sheep’s Nature Spun 100% wool fingering yarn.   A perfect fit for another project (Delicate Lace Socks).

Can’t wait to get home to cast on!
